EducationI have two associates degrees. An associates of science in biology and an associates of applied science in biotechnology. I graduated with honors. I am now a junior majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology and biological sciences at the university of Maryland Baltimore county.
ExperienceI worked for a year as a peer tutor at Hagerstown community college. I tutored Spanish, principles of biology 1 and 2, intro to chemistry, molecular biology and genetics, microbiology, anatomy and physiology and several biotechnology courses. I also completed an internship at the national institutes of health in a primarily microbiology and molecular biology lab. I have taken several biology and biotechnology class and have hands on laboratory skills that directly relate to the life sciences. Including but not limited to nucleus acid extraction, dissections, microbiology skills, protein extraction etc. I have also received a commendation for academic excellence in mathematics and sciences.
HobbiesI enjoy exercising, reading, and scientific research. During the summer I will be teaching younger family members microbiology skills such as aseptic technique and how to grow bacteria on various types of plates. I truly enjoy sharing my knowledge and passion for science with others. I was also the science chairperson for my schools stem club during 2015-2016.
